The Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Research School (EERS) for its 6th Edition invites early-career and senior scholars, including PhD candidates, to submit abstracts for the upcoming event at Iiaelyon School of Management, France. This event serves as a dynamic platform for emerging scholars to engage with international experts, collaborate, and further develop their research in the field of entrepreneurial ecosystems (EE).

The EERS aims to foster in-depth discussions around the latest advancements and emerging topics in entrepreneurial ecosystems, particularly focusing on the microfoundations that underpin ecosystem functioning. 

Topics of Interest: We welcome submissions exploring a broad range of topics within entrepreneurial ecosystems, including but not limited to:

  • Microfoundations of Entrepreneurial Ecosystems: Mechanisms, individual-level factors, and their influence on ecosystem dynamics.

  • Relational, Organizational, and Economic Perspectives: The interplay between different ecosystem components, elements, or actors.

  • Evolutionary and Longitudinal Dynamics: How ecosystems evolve over time, focusing on resilience, sustainability, and growth. Predictive models.

  • Global South and Low-Income Ecosystems: Unique challenges and opportunities in non-western and low-income country ecosystems.

  • Ethical, Inclusive, and Social Dimensions: Exploring the societal impact and inclusivity of entrepreneurial ecosystems.

  • Novel Theories and Methods for Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Research: Theories and Methodologies that push the boundaries of current research practices.

Event Highlights:

  • Keynote Speakers: Leading academics in entrepreneurial ecosystems research (names to be confirmed).

  • Paper Development Workshop: A special session in collaboration with Journal of Business Venturing (JBV) focused on its Special Issue “The Microfoundations of Entrepreneurial Ecosystems”

  • Methods Workshop: Focus on novel and unexplored methods in EE research.

  • Networking Sessions: Opportunities for early-career researchers to meet peers and established scholars.

  • Interactive Sessions: Discuss the future of entrepreneurial ecosystem research.

Program:

  • Keynote Sessions: Thought leadership from key figures in the EE field.

  • Paper Development Workshops: Tailored feedback on your paper's evolution with guidance from top-tier editors. A special PDW will be organized in partnership with JBV guest editors mentioned.

  • Meet the Editors Session: Opportunities for one-on-one interactions with editors of high-impact journals.

  • Networking Events: Networking lunches and coffees, exploration of the local ecosystem, and a prestigious Gala dinner.

Submission Instructions: Abstracts of no more than 2,000 words (excluding references) are invited. Submissions should follow the structure below:

  • Introduction/Objectives: What problem are you addressing? What are your research questions?

  • Literature Review: Briefly summarize theoretical roots and their relation to your research.

  • Method: What is your research design? What data are you collecting and how?

  • Results/Discussion: What have you found so far?

  • Implications and Limitations: How does your work contribute to the field, and what are its limitations?

Attendance Fees:

  • Physical attendance: expected around €350 (includes gala dinner, lunches, and coffee breaks) (to be confirmed); the final attendance fees will be communicated by the submission deadline date.

Location:

  • iaelyon School of Management, France (6 rue du Pr. Rollet, 69008 Lyon)
    Participants are expected to arrange their travel and accommodation. A low-rate hotel opportunity will be proposed to the participants.
